Dusted Florals and Happy Thanksgiving

Happy thanksgiving to everyone not using the metric system! I felt a bit lonely today without my best friends; turkey, mashed potato, and stuffing, but I compensated with the company of a few good friends and a few double fudge brownies. My friend Sherry and I found an incredibly creepy storage room in our basement, and what better way to appreciate creepy basements than take pretty pictures on all the piles of dust? My shoes suffered quite a bit, but I'll survive.
On the bright side, there are many things to be thankful for! Like my friends and family, my wonderful school, my teachers, my good health, the food I eat, the music I play... What are you thankful for?

Straight to the Pointe

The second part of Ruche's 'En Pointe' editorial has me on my toes. It brings me back to all my ballet days. Full skirts, tulle, lace, and sparkles make me swoon.

Vintage Carousel

As a kid, the summer carnival was by far my favorite part of the year. The cotton candy, balloons, and rides were enough to make me have a tantrum every time daddy said "time to go." Yup, I was one annoying kid. Seeing this editorial by Ruche brought me right back to those days. You're definitely never too old to ride a pretty vintage carousel in charming dresses. Last summer I learned that yes, the worker at the front might give you a strange look and ask who you are helping on the ride (do I seriously look old enough to have kids?!) but you just need to start speaking rapid french, the run onto the ride. Err... Then run off afterwards to avoid getting kicked out.

Antiquing

I like to combat lazy Sundays with late brunch, vintage dresses, and antiquing. There's something so relaxing about strolling through a cute neighborhood and looking at dusty old things with "history" and "personality". Though I really loved the music necklace, I couldn't imagine why it should cost me $400. No mater how much "history" dusty sterling silver is, unless it belonged to the queen or someone else important, please don't charge me that much for something you most likely found in some creaky attic.

My Saturday was a bit more eventful. Though I totally slept way past noon (woops, sorry homework) the day felt extremely long. Maybe it's because I got home around 3am.... What can I say? Time flies when you're having fun with friends.

Old School

Sometimes I find myself seriously wishing I lived in 1899. I love the fashion, the lifestyle, the events... I mean, who doesn't want to dress up in long, poofy dresses, gloves, and hats every day? It sure beats the sweatpants and ugg trend going on (who allowed that?) And doesn't a formal ball complete with chandeliers and horse-drawn carriages sound more appealing than a trashy club? Oh, and I'd rather have a man ask me to dance by kissing my hand and bowing than by groping me on the dance floor (in which case, I run away faster than Road Runner from Looney Tunes). Maybe it's the fact that my school looks like Hogwarts, or maybe I have a thing for sexual tension and batting my eyelashes behind a silk fan... But hey, on the bright side, at least I can text my friends, sit however I want, and vote.
