Sorry for the lack of posting recently - my finals have been getting to me. And if you're currently in University or have attended, you'll understand that it's one of the most stressful times of the year. It's more stressful than deciding which shoes to wear with that new dress to a promising first date with some cute guy... Well, if you have time to go on dates, that is. I think the closest thing to a date these past few weeks was sitting in the common room with my friends, then some guy walked in, said hi, filled his water bottle, and left. It was promising. I've already named all our children. 
Anyways, hopefully these incredible Disney Princess paintings help ease the burning pain inside. If not, buy a cat, they make everything better.

Wearing Shorts in Winter

The chilly weather is finally back for good so I've packed my floral sundresses, sandals, and sunhats and unpacked my chunky sweaters, leather jackets, and boots. Luckily, I didn't have to give up everything that screamed summer - I've still got my sunglasses, flowy scarves, and shorts. Now, I know a lot of people think shorts are strictly summer attire, however rocking shorts in the winter can be pretty simple. Just ignore all the confused looks from everyone. But really that's what fashion is about; your own personal style. And so what if others don't understand it? They're probably in their "warm" sweatpants asking you why you're wearing shorts in which I respond by sarcastically saying "I like to freeze and get hypothermia in my fashionable clothing right before finals."  Little do they know that I'm all jokes because thick socks and tights are warm he-he.
On a more current note, I was doing some homework with one of my guy friends and in the middle of our coffee break he says "so, when can we stop playing games and hook up?" Since when does doing homework with your friend mean you are playing games? And since when do girls find it attractive when a guy basically says to you that your friendship means nothing and that the only reason they hung out with you is to try and get in your pants? Anyways, my response to his annoying, vulgar comment was a sarcastic smile, a "good luck on your finals", and I didn't bother leaving the coffee I bought for him. I threw that in the trash on my way out.

Leather Love

How beautiful is this notebook given to me by my lovely sister? I've never really been a diary type person but I've always appreciated a gorgeous journal. Plus, this one incorporates all of the amazing things I love - it smells like leather, looks beautifully classic (reminds me of the olden days a bit...), the script is stunning, and its theme is music! Long story short, I love it. Now all I have to do is learn to write cutesy girly diary posts. The first will be a mushy-gushy "Dear Diary" one about how much I love my sister. And then I'll put happy glittery heart stickers and x's and o's all over the page. Or wait...maybe I have this wrong, isn't that what you do when you have crushes in 6th grade? Oh well, whatever.

Ugly Christmas Sweaters

This week has been pretty hectic as of late. With all the busy class, assignments, and end-of-term essays, it's hard to get 5+ hours of sleep each night. Just this afternoon as I worked on my history essay, I started to doze off and when I woke up, realized the work I had done sounded like something out of a 3rd grader's folder. Meh, whatever! I shall celebrate the end of the week on Saturday by dancing in my new Hello Kitty pajamas. Yeah, I'm cool like that.
Around here it's chilly but not cool enough for my super-warm pea-coat yet, so I've spent a lot of time in large sweaters--large Christmas sweaters, that is. I hope you've all been rocking this look, and if not, head over to your Grandma's closet and pick out the most disturbing looking snowman sweater she has. This is the only time that the uglier the sweater, the cuter it is. Christmas is sho happy yooo guyss :).
Outfits for Inspiration
Outfit 1: The plural of 'moose' is 'moose'

Someone said they saw 'meese' and everyone was like 'dafuq is a meese?' So..I just had to let you all know it's moose! Hope you learned something! I started this outfit with a warm fitted sweater over a basic loose tee. I then added some snowy white skinny jeans and a navy belt and jeweled flats that reminded me of winter snow. I accessorized with a silver necklace, cute pearly earrings and a chunky bracelet. Finally, I added a large nude backpack to fit all your necessities in.

Outfit 2: A Holly Jolly Christmas
I started this ensemble a chunky white holly sweater. I paired it off with a green skirt and thigh-high red socks for a Christmas-feel. I then accessorized with cute gingerbread earrings, gold bangles, and a while purse. Finally i added a pair of festive green flats. 

Outfit 3: Winter Wonderland

 I started this look with an over-sized sweater dress and added white tweed tights. Next, I added nude colored booties. I then added a pair of earrings that resembled snowflakes and snowy-white jewelry.

Quotes I love: "A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous."

Leave it to Coco Chanel to say something so inspiring and true - women of all ages try to achieve classy and fabulous looks! Unfortunately though, it's not as easy as it sounds. You need to appear polished, well mannered, fashionable, and not too over the top! Here's my take on how to appear classy and fabulous.

Tips on looking classy and fabulous

  • Have proper etiquette: How classy you look will always be based on how you present yourself. Whether you're at a dinner party, the mall, or even a bar, your posture, manners, and language all reflect your level of class. It doesn't matter if you're wearing a Zuhair Murad dress, if you're slouched, drunk, and throwing around the F-bomb, you wont look classy. Remember to be respectable and tasteful. 
  • Be knowledgeable: Being aware of politics, current events, or at least knowing the facts about the country you live in is all respectable. It shows that you have a career and are educated which is, undoubtedly, very classy. 
  • Dress the part: You need to appear put together and well polished if you want to look classy and fabulous. If you look vulgar or wear ripped or stained clothing, you wont look classy. On the other hand, if you wear plain business suits everyday, you wont look fabulous! Make sure to find a balance and look fashionable, respectable, and elegant.

 Outfit 1: Sheer Elegance
For this outfit, I chose a very classy and pretty white dress with different textures. To accompany it, I accessorized with a cream colored clutch and pearl earrings - a timeless, classic wardrobe essential.For a bit of color and glam, I added a pair of fun, purple heels. Finally, I finished the look with a pair of stylish sunglasses, and bright red lipstick (an instant touch to make any ensemble fabulous.)

Outfit 2: A Stroll in the Park
For this ensemble, I started with an elegant, powder-blue dress - it has just the right amount of modern elegance and class. I then added shoes that complimented the color-blocked dress and a classic brown coat. I then accessorized with a bowed hat. the 'oui' bracelet represents a bit of Coco's French background and the bow earrings compliment the other bows in this outfit (blue sash, and hat). To complete the look, I chose a simple, feminine clutch. 

Outfit 3: Date Night
For this formal ensemble, I started with a simple, strapless black dress and accessorized with a leather bow belt. Next, I added a stunning purse and long, intricate earrings to add some sparkle to the outfit. I then chose classic, pearl bangles, and a pair of exquisite heels. Finally, I finished the look with an elegant coat.
