One of the best things about today was having an excuse to sleep in until noon, lazily get brunch with my friend Shanu, and then head off to do some shopping with a few more friends. Now all there is to do is take it easy and save up all my energy for Nuit Blanche tonight! I can cry about all the things I need to do tomorrow. In the meantime, hurray for lazy Saturdays where all you do is throw on a comfy pair of jeans, some flats, a cute top, and a warm, cashmere scarf.

I really like this incredible leather jacket given to me by a family friend. It's super soft and hug-able and feels like it's been drenched in conditioner or something (weird for leather, huh?) and has this amazing silk lining. It also makes me feel like a bit of a hot-shot bad-ass so I walked around all day with a lot of stomp to try to make my hair flow like a Victoria's Secret model and I made sure the jacket was always open so that people could get a sneak-peak of the white leather accents. My hopes and dreams where crushed however, when some random person said "wow, she looks really mad and scary." So much for my sex appeal...

Anyways...! I've spent my day rather productively so that I don't feel guilty about not doing so tomorrow. I wont have much time seeing as I'll be at Nuit Blanche! As this is my first month living in Toronto, I've never been, but many of my friends have and kindly offered to show me around. I'm pretty excited to run around in the middle of the night looking at incredible art sculptures--and bonus points that it's free of charge! Oh, and seeing as it goes from 7pm-7am, I totally have an amazing excuse to sleep in a lot tomorrow morning. Here's to waking up past noon on Saturdays!

For some unexplainable reason, my friends would rather go out for drinks and dance than study with me in the library. Every time I ask them to join me they roll their eyes and laugh. Oh well! I have all my books, papers, and cups of strong coffee as company. Plus, I can laugh at them when they're doing their procrastinated assignments at 3am the day before it's due. Muahaha !

Today was spent running from class to class and doing some really productive reading in this outfit that makes me look like a 12-year-old goody-two-shoes school girl. The initial goal was that if I looked cute enough while reading The Epic of Gilgamesh some gorgeous prince might ride his horse to my table, say "That is my favorite book." and then we would ride off to Victoria Castle and sing with all the birds and squirrels and live happily ever after. Nope, it didn't happen...

Isn't it such a disappointment when you pursue someone only to find out that you probably never had a chance and all those hours spent Facebook and Twitter stalking have completely gone to waste? And then isn't it even worse when you finally say "wow screw that I'm SO over it" and then all of a sudden they start saying hi to you and insisting on talking!? Then you're confused as to what to do and take turns hating them and yourself and over thinking the entire situation. Yup. We've all been there. I guess for now I'll resort to the best kind of therapy available to mankind: pumpkin spice lattes, Ferrero Rocher, and nutella. Oh, and I'll wear a cute little beret in the hopes of looking like a romantic foreigner who actually enjoys solo strolls through the park and isn't forced to take them because no one want's to go for a walk with her.. At least I had some alone time to take pictures of these gorgeous flowers!

My day wasn't exactly ice-cream, sprinkles, and pretty unicorns so I'm afraid I don't have anything too sarcastic or witty to say. When my mood is a bit down, I tend to lack creativity. Despite the amazing sunshine and high 70s we got today, I've been feeling a bit under the weather. I guess it's just one of those days where things just keep getting worse and then your book bag rips and a squirrel decides to steal your favorite pencil and run over your homework assignments (not making this up). Here's to hoping tomorrow's a bit sunnier.
